The Cleveland Amory Black Beauty Ranch, America?s largest and most diverse animal sanctuary, is conducting an open house on October 13 and October 20. Named for Cleveland Amory, founder of The Fund for Animals, the Black Beauty Ranch is typically not open for regular public visitation, as Amory?s vision was that it ?would be a place where animals are looked after, not looked at.? This is an incredible opportunity to visit and support an animal sanctuary like no other ? less than a couple of hours from Dallas. More details from the organizers:

Visit our 1250 acre sanctuary and meet more than 1000 animals rescued from biomedical research; factory farming; circuses, roadside zoos; the exotic pet trade and other cruelty.
At Cleveland Amory Black Beauty Ranch you?ll meet: chimpanzees and other primates, hundreds of horses? and burros, bobcats, iguanas and African tortoises, antelope, deer, ostriches, llamas, American bison, and dozens of other species?now thriving in a peaceful and compassionate environment.
You?ll also enjoy a visit to the Doris Day Horse Rescue and Adoption Center where they use methods of natural horsemanship, to build trust, rapport and training with rescued horses while providing support to adopters.
